Spare Change Laying Around?

Featured Replies

Like a lot of people I had a jar of coins laying around for a long time.  I never liked using those coinstar machines to count money, since they take 11%. Ouch. But rather always opted to roll it myself.

However, they started offering gift certificates instead of cash back with NO fee. 100% of your money can go into a gift card to a place they offer. One of which is BPS. It spits out a receipt with a gift card number on it and is instantly available to you.  I was able to dump a bunch of coins I had laying around and turn that into half a Rod.

Might be worth checking out if you have a ton of change and are too lazy to count it yourself.

most banks will convert your change for free if you have an account.

I once swallowed a quarter and shat out 2 dimes and a nickel. Does that count?

I suggest you swallow the two dimes and the nickel to see if you dispense the quarter.

Are you programmed to handle bills as well?

A friend of mine has a kid that swallowed a penny. They freaked out and went to the ER. When they took the Xray, they saw the kid had enough change in his gut for all of them to go to the coke machine.

True story.

Brain teaser: you have two coins that equate to 30 cents, however, one is not a nickel. What do you have?

A quarter and a nickel, one is not a nickel and that'd be the quarter

My bank has a coin-star type machine in the lobby. Free to account holders. This is the ONLY reason I ever go to the bank. All other banking is done 100% wirelessly.

I told my wife about the BPS card. She said dont even think about it. :(

I have boxes here and bottles  and my wife says" why", Because my love, iffin you ever decide I can't buy my fishin  tackle , I will use these funds to dump your sorry ass. This is totally not true. My wife of 44 years chases me out of the house to go fishing. But for 20+ years I love to dump change into boxes and bottles. I would guess I have 5-6K in change.  And my bride collects pennys..
