Bassresource, Have You Ever Considered Creating An App?

Featured Replies

Just curious if you guys/ladies have considered creating an app for the site.  Easy links to videos, message boards etc..  Maybe there is one that I havent found?  Just curious.

The mobile site itself for the forums is pretty good as is in my opinion.

The one thing I'd like to know from Glenn, can the Quoting on the mobile site be altered?  When I see quotes using my phone (android) they're not highlighted and are compacted into a straight paragraph of text.  I just see two sweeping arrows on quoted posts, and it can be confusing as to what someone is saying vs quoting. Especially when some people respond in front of quotes instead of afterwards.

If future changes to the mobile site are in order, that'd be my only request. Not a huge deal if it is the way it is.

It would be nice to have a app that would make it that much better to use the site. Mobile site is good but apps are just faster and quicker like when I check sports scores or finances.

Try IPB Buddy. Using it now.

BR runs fine on my android the way it is.  I just created a shortcut and put it on my homepage.

  • 1 month later...

It works fine on my phone but would be nice to get the notifications through a app and not have some of the emails put in my spam folder.

You'd control whether you get email alerts in your user settings, through your profile here. How your email handles junk or spam would be controlled through your email provider. I have mine set up to only email me when I get a PM.

Only from my point of view I have no need for a BR app, an email notification or any app while I'm fishing.  I may look at BR while I'm sitting in my car waiting for squall to pass, that's about it.  I try to be fully prepared before I leave home, and I already know how to tie a knot.  If I happen to take a pic of nice fish, I can wait till I get home to post it. The more time I'm playing with a phone the less time my lure is in the water.

In contrast, I pretty much exclusively use my phone to access the forum. I use both the mobile version in Safari, and the IPB app for iPhone. The only real difference is the back buttons on each. Otherwise they are identical. Since I work sitting in front if a PC for work, I prefer not be at a laptop in my free time. It's just easier for me. Just different strokes for different folks.

Mobile version works great for me most of the time. Using either Safari or Chrome on the iPhone. I'll switch over to the full site when I use my iPad though. Just a little easier for me that way.

Safari I4s mobile works great... No problems! Fast and efficient !
