Anyone try these newer small sized pit bosses? What techniques do you think these will excel at? They aren't the most realistic looking bait and I've all ways been told normally you want to use smaller baits in clear water with less action which is the complete opposite of this bait.

I just used some yesterday with owner screw lock 1/16 oz weighted hooks. Caught a couple bass but The roboworms were too good to put down. I think the small pit boss are going kill it for my small stream small mouth fishing

Carolina rig and flipping mats.  I bought a ton and  am psyched to try them (still 30" of ice here).  You need a 1/0 or 2/0 flipping hook, they're really tiny.

Hmm i thought the 4 inches were small.

Jig trailer , small flipping bait , carolina rig , maybe shakey head ...I looked at them at a store and decided to pass . To me , the small pit boss was a 'tweener bait ...I just felt I had other baits for the above tactics which I had more confidence in .

I use the 4 inch pit boss as a trailer to.

A little on the small side for my liking, I use the 4" and 5" models. The 3" could be good for a finesse bite on a shakyhead or for turned of smallies.

a bait does not need to look realistic to be efective, the stingray grub looks pretty unrealistic and some of the old farts ( like me ) have caught a big bunch of fish with them.

That's what I was thinking. A jig looks like nothing I have ever seen in the water. A brush hog, sweet beaver, 7" power worm...all catch fish and I don't know what they are supposed to look like.

They're going to be an awesome shakyhead bait I'll bet! They look good on the back of a finesse jig, and probably would work well on a split shot rig also. 

I couldn't wait for these to come out! It's about time!! I bought some 3 inchers in assorted colors including a new one called "Purple Pumpkin Red," which kinda looks like PB&J to me. Anyways they look AWESOME on the back of a Bass Patrol Jig, I plan on using them a lot this season.

I pitch smallie beavers all the time. These will be a really great heavier alternative.

I used some yesterday. I have them in the blue and white color and okeechobee craw. I like the design of the pit boss but always felt they might be a bit big for the place I fish regularly. I tried my new pit boss jrs yesterday and got a bass on each color. The 4" us to big for a trailer also in my opinion where the 3 seems to fit just fine. 

In fact I put it on as a trailer on one of my bitsy bugs and used that for a bit. I got a bite on it but failed to set the hook properly. So in my opinion, they do work and I love the colors I got. Any time I find Okeechobee Craw colors in jigs or plastics, I go for it. I've had great results with that color down here in South Florida.
