Any Regrets In Life?

Featured Replies

Or White Castle. There's a reason the burgers are called sliders

I remember the first and last time i had white castle. We dont have any within an hour so on the way back from a road trip as a kid my grandpa stopped and got some sliders that he talked so much about. I had one. I had to spend the rest of the ride home laying down in the back of a caprice praying we'd get home in time.

The same can also be said for long john silvers, if i even get a whiff of that i have to take off running

Thanks, guys. My brother was almost 400 pounds and died @ age 30 during a heart surgery he never would have had to have if it were not for his weight. I knew I was facing a similar fate if I did not d

What's there to regret? Do I regret getting thrown out of college? Nope. Becoming an electrician? Nope. Slacking in high school? Nope. Getting arrested? Nope. Shooting juice? Nope. Getting married and having kids? Nope. Working around the country while my wife and son spend all my money? Still a big fat nope. Everything happens for a reason. You learn from the past. You don't dwell on it and wonder what could have been. I can list every messed up thing that ever happened to me or I've done in my life. The answer will still be the same thing. Nope.

I have found Zen in life.

It's fair to believe everybody has some regrets.  But no dwelling is allowed so we must look forward.  I spent the first 20 years of life doing things I'd regret for the next 10 years followed by more than 10 looking forward.  Haven't looked back since.  I make what I can of life going forward and forget what can drag me down.

Some people mentioned things akin to wishes........mine would be to have my family back!  Outside of my mom, all have passed unexpectedly, suddenly, and young.  Nothing matters besides family, and my wife and kids are my one and only priority with everything else being second.  Well.....fishing is second and then everything else :)

Don't really want to "Dig up Bones" like Randy Travis used to sing.  Each day is a new adventure and a gift from above.  With whats happened the last few years I try not to look back.

I wish that I would have accepted the offer to be a childhood friends pallbearer.

I just didn't think that I could have handled it at the time.

Not so much regret for stupid things i've done. I don't know if regret is the right word, but I look back at opprotunities I never pursued and wish id taken that chance and experienced more. Expanded my comfort zone if you will.

Mine was 'SEX DRUGS AND ROCK N ROLL' when I got back from Viet Nam in the '60s.  I lived every day like it was my last for over a year.  Needless to say there were lots of interesting times.

Nah man, you just gotta build up the tolerance for the stuff, just like anything :)  It also works very well for a nice colon cleansing....

haha that stuff will get rid of all those toxins in your body. I guess i don't have to do the master cleanse anymore. Thanks for bringing that up!

Thanks, guys. My brother was almost 400 pounds and died @ age 30 during a heart surgery he never would have had to have if it were not for his weight. I knew I was facing a similar fate if I did not drastically change my life.

I took a break from fishing for some time to focus on my health, but now I'm back to slaying em!!

I'm gonna go against the grain of everyone here and say absolutely!!!!

I used to always be a happy go lucky kinda guy what ever happened happened no regrets but looking back yeah I have to many to list.

I've read a lot of your posts the last couple of years, so pardon me for replying here using the "Glass Half Full" train of thought.

Is it possible that one of your biggest regrets just may have provided you with the two sons that you would never regret?

Kinda balances things out huh?

No regrets , lots of mistakes for certain , still no regrets , I think it best to learn from decisions and or actions to create a better future rather than dwell on what could have been , should have been .

Of course I have regrets. There is nothing I can do about them now, though. Our time on earth is too limited to spend it dwelling on the past and what we could have done.

No regrets.  Did I make mistakes?  Yep.  Are there things I could have done differently?  Yes.

But to change them would have changed the course of my life.  I wouldn't gamble the life I've had to change something in my past.

I could not have written it better...

So that would be a ditto for me ...
