Gamma Fluorocarbon Line

Featured Replies

Was looking for line on Tackle Warehouse today and saw that 100 yard spools of 12 pound test Gamma Edge costs $22.95 while a 200 yard spool of the same test of Tatsu is $39.99.  When comparing these two lines, Gamma costs more per yard than Tatsu, which has commonly been referred to as "the best  fluorocarbon made".

Considering the adage that you get what you pay for with fluorocarbon line, does anyone have any experience with Gamma line and consider it a worthwhile purchase?  Ultimately, how does it compare to Tatsu?

I'm not sure if the price has anything to do /w Paul Mueller getting second int he classic using the line or if it's always been that price. I did get a spool at an expo this winter for really cheap that I still haven't used.  I do use Tatsu though. It's just flat out awesome line.

Tatsu rocks!

I would be interested in someone comparing it with Gamma, I have never fished the line.

Good luck, I posted this exacted question about a month ago and got zilch. I'm still waiting lol

now yall got me wondering too!!!!!!

I wish the Gamma was at least 150 yd spool so I could split it.

as a tatsu user I get three, 65 yard topshots out of a 200 yard spool.

well after a quick search I see they offer a 200 yard spool.

$58 for a 200yd 20# spool........ and to think I swallowed hard on the Tasu price knowing I was buying the best.

UGH, Guess I need to take one for the team and try it out.

Have to compare sizes first as I refuse to use anything bigger per size.... it does look interesting ......

TT did a review back several years ago. It didn't fare too well. Some things are priced high, just to be expensive. I'd stick with Tatsu or Shooter, personally.
