37 Pounds Hawgtech Dominates!

Featured Replies

I would like to give a huge shout out to Mike and Leo. They had a whopping 37 pounds today at the park to win the everglades bassmaster open. Mike had first AND second big fish with a 9 pounder and an 8. It couldn't have happened to two nicer guys, they were due. They crushed the field by 12 pounds! Second place had 25, 3rd had 23, 4th had 22, and 5th had 21. I had to fish alone because my partner texted me at 5 this morning saying he was sick as a dog. Had a super fun day and weighed in 20 pounds. Right on Mike, hellavu job!

Wow....that's a huge sack for any lake in the country! Congrats.

Congrats Mike!! WTG!!.  You have had them dialed in for while now, and to have it come together on Tourney day, is unbelievable.

Good Job.

Thanks guys!

Yeah, Bruce, it was an awesome day.  I had a feeling we were going to have a good day.  My last five trips out there have been +30lb trips and Leo has been doing similar.  But today was beyond words.   Had ~33lbs by 10:00.  When we ran by you at 12:30 we were done.  Our smallest fish in the well was just under 7lb (6.85) and it's so hard to upgrade 7lbers out there.   Also, the boat was acting a little funny so we just went back around the park, had some lunch and BSd with the tournament director and the guys for awhile.

Think I am done fishing out there for the year...kind of sad.  Gonna focus on the lake a little bit.  It's good to go out on a high note, I guess.

Thanks guys! I had a couple of old timers tell me yesterday they thought it was the biggest 5fish limit weighed in out there, ever. They were talking about some six fish stringers that were bigger...not sure when they went from 6fish limits to 5 fish limits, but it gives some scale of the time frame here.

In the last four years, I've fished almost every tourney out there and the biggest bag I've seen has been 33.5lbs. This one feels pretty good right now.

:respect-059: Congrats to you Leo and Mike!   :respect-059:

Thanks for sharing the "spots" I was out there prior to tournament week!  I went out once with Mike and another with Justin prior to Sunday and we put the smack down on them too, over 32 and 25 respectively!

Congratulations Mike.  That's an impressive catch.
