I'm looking for a pair if scissors or something to take with me to cut fishing line.  Right now I use a Swiss Army knife that has a small pair of scissors but I would like to buy a dedicated pair of scissors.  Does anybody make fishing scissors that go in its own holster and you can carry on your belt?  Something small and being able to carry on my belt would be nice.  Any recommendations?

The Rapala scissors work great for cutting all types of line and are only about $4.  But I don't think they come with a holster to attach to your belt.

I use the William Joseph Hemocuts.  You can use them to cut line, remove hooks, and as a hemostat.  The grip texture is great with wet hands and the bright orange color make them easy to find in your bag or in the water (if dropped).

Fiskars kids scissors. They are small, compact and cut any line. They have a blunt end so you dont have to worry about poking you or through your tackle bag and what not. Just tuck em away in your back pocket and youll be good to go.

I purchased some stainless steel split ring pliers that have replaceable cutting blades on the side. They work amazing for everything including braid. They come in a belt holster and can do everything you need and are not heavy at all.

I use the Rapala scissors as well, they cut all types of line including braid easily. They are small and I usually keep them in my back pocket when I'm fishing.

Needle nose pliers for me. They have a flat cutting side so I can put them flush with the eye and cut a knot right off. They cut any line with no problems. I use small ones so they fit in my back pocket and are easier to get way down in a fishes mouth. I think the bigger ones can be a pain to get hooks out if your trying to do it on a dink. Plus they don't fit in my back pocket as nicely. Small ones are just more convenient for me and I always know where they are. Scissors seem pointless to me when pliers do exactly what they do but better IMO plus more.

I keep a Leatherman Micra on my keychain and a couple full-size multitools around. They all cut braided line nicely. I haven't found a need for dedicated "fishing scissors".

Best tool IMO I stumbled across this at a bait shop while I was looking for scissors to cut braid and I ABSOLUTLY love this tool! Keep one clipped on my spider wire backpack at all times and keep one in my car and clip it to my belt loop

 I bought a pair of those Rapala scissors (only $3.00) but I will check out those Boomerang tools too.  They look cool.  

Boomerang clippers are pretty good. I use them but I prefer a scissor clamp. In addition to cutting pretty well, I use them as a hook removal tool. I clamp them to my shirt or jacket when I'm not using them so they are always handy. 

 

Might I suggest EMT Shears, They have holsters and will cut a penny in half. Sturdy cheap and pretty lightweight. And if they go overboard they cost $3 or $4. I bought a 10 pack for about $24 and carry one in every car, motorcycle, boat and backpack I own.

I totally agree! I have to bring pliers anyways, so why not have a great pair of cutting blades attached to my pliers and kill 2 birds with one stone. 

If you get pliers with a carbide cutter on them they go through braid like nothing!

I got a great pair of scissors when I bought some Sufix 832 braid. They are great.

Pliers work just fine for cutting lines, except braid.  I have bought at least 6 different brands of carbide bladed pliers, they work great on braid..........for a while, none of them seem to endure the test of time.  I use a lighter to cut my braid.  If some one chooses to use scissors as well as pliers, BPS has a sheath that holds 2 tools, I have one.
