Rat L Trap, cotton cordell, aruku shad...? What's your favorite lipless what color and what size

I fish shallow neighborhood ponds, so I prefer a 1/4 oz. I used to really like the Rat-L-Traps, but kinda favor Red Eye Shads nowadays.

The bait I prefer for all around lipless presentations is the StrikeKing Diamond Shad. Sadly, it's been replaced in their line-up by the Red Eye Shad which is great as a drop bait. I prefer heavier baits and  Rapala's OneKnocker fits that bill for me and is likely the most productive as a chuck and wind bait as it seems to hold it's depth better than Cordells or RattleTraps. 

Whatever bait I choose, there are only three colors I opt for; Chrome, either black/chrome or blue/chrome, crawfish, or firetiger. 1/2oz.and larger baits will get deep quick, but can be fished in the upper water column and these baits are rarely used in deeper water which makes them a killer on high pressured waters.

1/2 oz red eye

Aruku in Perch is my favourite lipless.

If u can find it, check out Sebile flatt shad 77 Su and pick a color similar to any of the above. You'll pick one up and notice the difference immediately. Emphasis on 77su!!!

1/4 ounce rat-l-trap in natural craw usually works great around here in the fall and in the spring.

None of the above. I like the Red Eye Shad, and the Xcaliburs. 1/2 oz most of the time. Color matters little. Red/orange craw in the spring clear or dirty water as long as it's overcast with some wind. If there is sun breaking through the clouds, but still some wind, I'll go with a white based color like sexy shad if the water is stained, or a translucent color if water is clear. No wind................I throw something else.

Cordell chrome blue back. 

 

Inexpensive and consistently produces for me.  I see no reason to spend more money for a lure that may or may not work better.

Xcalibur XR50 and XRK50 in Ghost, silver/blue, gold/black, and Rayburn red. 

SK Red Eye shad in 1/2 ounce, bluegill color. Also really do well on CC super spots and Rat L Traps.

I've been using Strike King RE Shad with the Lazer Trokar hooks, and boy do I like it. The fall is fantastic...heck, everything about it is fantastic so far.

 

Also use Cotton Cordell, Rat-L-Traps. Eyed some Excaliber at DSGs the other day. Great paint job and price.

I love the ripping Rap..... Love it! Just wish there were more color selections. But I think I've got every make and model out there. I also like the BPS lipless, it looks like something from overseas but with a country boy price.

I prefer Yo-zuri Rattl'n Vibe,weight 5/8,color Ghost Shad,but i would be willing to try every color they have.Yo-zuri is all i buy. God Bless
