New Pb!!

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I decided to take a few days off work and go fishing. The weather was really hell, just non stop rain and wind. But I hung in there and today it all paid off! The fishing was real slow caught a few dinks in the morning then mid afternoon I hooked into this pig. My only problem is with all the rain my digi scale shorted out and I have no idea how much she weighed : ( So what do you guys think? I think anywhere from 8-9lbs?

Just so you guys know she was caught from shore. So hopefully this will give some of you fellow shore anglers some hope for hookn a fat pig!

It's a guess but your range looks reasonable. Congrats on a really nice bass.

Really nice bass.  I think you are in the right ball park.  Sucks about the scale.  That would eat at me!  Did you at least get some measurements?

Jeff I am kicking my self in the head you have no idea lol. In my haste I took no measurements. Afterwards my Dad reminded me I could've used cut fishing string......I do this every time I catch a nice size bass. I freak out get all worked up and don't think clearly. I took tons and TONS of pictures so I'm hoping I can send them in and get a pretty accurate mount done. Do you guys think this is a mount worthy bass?

congrats on a very nice northern pig!

is that a jig pig?

I wanted to keep the weight conservative. Don't encourage my thoughts on double digits lol, the NY state record is only 11lbs, I feel like I came within a couple pounds easily!

Same here, without a scale it can make it difficult to know when you break your personal best.  I think your estimate is accurate.  That's a beautiful fish.

That's one fat sow!

Wow thats a great looking fish for any part of the country.  To come from NY,  that is a monster.  Great job, I hope she was released in great shape. :respect-059:
