My Attempt At A Swim Jig, How'd I Do?

Featured Replies

Found the Jig head in a tackle box I recently purchased. Had some old partial skirts laying around and tied em on.Tipped it with a Money Minnow with the tail dipped in JJ's.

I know the only way I'll know if it's effective is to throw it, but before I do is there anything I should alter on it?

I would consider thinning the skirt out a little and fishing it.

I like a more full skirt so all I'd do is fish that bad boy. Good job.

Looks good to me. See how the fish like it now

The only alteration I would make is to put it in some water.

Its hard to tell from the angle, but I would trim down the weed guard a little.

Funky!  Get er wet and tell us how you did.  :)

Weedguard is trimmed and the hook is already canted up slightly.Whoever owned this jig previously knew what they were doing. As far as the skirt is concerned, I grabbed as many colors as I could blend together to make kinda a Green Sunfish/Bluegill look. There's strands of Amber/Black, Orange, Chartruese, red, and baby bass. Kinda a hodge podge of colors but I think they blend together well.

Make sure the skirt is not so long that it interferes with the trailer is my only suggestion.
