Humming Bird Or Lowrance?

Featured Replies

Wondering what electronics y'all prefer. No fish finder in perticular just which brand y'all think is better as a whole.

Both have good products and are not "better" than the other.

Each has their performance advantages depending what you want in particular.

Garmin, and Raymarine have good stuff too.

I have used all four brands over the years.

I presently have Humminbird units with Side Imaging because they perform for my needs.

You asked the wrong question. You would want to know is what products would work the best for your fishing style and types of water you fish.

I use Humminbird,  I'm getting a RayMarine for the Down imaging and upgrading my Humminbird to a 998 SI- unless I can find a 1198 for less than 1500 bucks.  I bought to small a screen for my needs.

One of my buds has 2 birds.  I have 2 Lows.  I think his side and down are better than mine while my 2d sonar is better than his.

There are trade offs on all of them. It's all about finding one with the features that work best for you.

Right now I prefer Lowrance because of it's user friendly menus.  As I grow up things might change.  :)

I think HB has better side imaging but Lowrance has better sonar.

Oddly I have both on my boat. I have had an HDS7 Touch for about 2 months now and personally I would never want to go back to buttons. Extremely user friendly and very very clear. Now just for the funds for the second one
