This was my first outing with power pro, i had been using spiderwire stealth. Was going down a rocky bank hopping a fluke on a jighead off the bottom and i broke off twice on hooksets. It was either rocky snags or pike, i believe it was probably the former. Should this line be snapping on rocks like that? Using palomar knot. The lake killed me today i only managed one bass, and it was on the fluke presentation.

Braid sucks for abrasion resistance if there is any high tension applied to the line like say when fish is on and you touch rock. Now Ill work along rocks with braid cause slack line braid on rocks doesnt seem to be an issue. Once fish on get away from rock the best you can.

why I use 832, very good abrasion resistance, few braids can take this kind of abuse, and power pro has proven to me to be among the worst.

I'll echo the other comments. Braid has very poor abrasion resistance on rocky structure. As Bob said, I've also found 832 has probably the best abrasion resistant as far as braided line goes on rock but as a whole, it still isn't great.

It's no mystery, you were fishing braided line on rocks. Rocks and braided line don't mix.

get a cheap spool of red label seguar and use it as leader material when in the rocks...or something more expensive if your heart desires 

I dont like power pro personally because I have snapped it before just practice casting in my back yard, I use grand slam braid or fireline and I know im gonna get flack for using fireline but its honestly one of the best if not the best braid out there, its insanly sensitive and extremely durable, every place I fish is rocky, rocky bottoms, rock piles, ect and it hasnt failed me once.

I've used Power Pro for nearly 6 years, since I got into bass fishing and it's never failed me. I still have my original Power Pro 30lbs. on my Plueger Patriach that I've used for nearly 6 years. It was my first baitcaster and I use it to this day. Have yet to lose a fish to it. I still use that reel and the original Power Pro from 6 years ago.

I also have used Fireline for probably 15 years and never had a problem. I just got two rolls of 15lbs. Power Pro for my 2 spinning reels because it was on sale and my two reels need line.

I always use braid with a leader.  Rocks do not seem to pose much of a problem for me, where I fish it's coral, barnacles and sharp gill plates, those are like razor blades.  My braid seldom is roughed up or cut, it's the leader that comes in contact with those sharp surfaces, 40# f/c leaders don't always stand up.  I don't think the brand of braid has anything to do with it, haven't seen a major difference to make me believe one is better than another.

Played the samw game in tampa for five years...30lb PP and a 25lb leader on the flats. Held up pretty good on the oyster beds and around the docks playin the snook and reds

Upped the poundage for gags and poon and all still worked well

Im ready to prioritize the inshore soon. If I don't catch anything I can always swim. I bought more of the U.S. Braid in #10 and its been good.

This year has been the most disappointing since I've lived in Florida, there just isn't much going on yet.  Bait is staring to show up, 2 months late, but not many fish coming in.  A west wind every morning, flat and clear water is not ideal for snook.  On the bright side I have probably caught more 40"+ barracuda than I normally do, that's even slowed up this past week.  Any day now it should break loose, I've been saying that for a month, lol.  I just bought about 10 spoons, 8 metal jigs, couple dozen bucktails and 4 packs of DOA jerk shads, so I'm ready.
