4Th Of July Fishing Plans Tomorrow? Let's Hear 'em!

Featured Replies

Friend and I are taking the boat on the water as the sun rises. Here in NC water temps are in the mid 80's. Once the morning creeps on it gets hot. Deep water baits then. That afternoon meeting the family for a big family reunion / cookout on my wife's side. ;-)

Only fishing I plan on doing is from my backyard tomorrow. I'm not even considering taking one of the boats out, unless it's the electric only one here at home. Don't feel like dealing with all the crazies that show up on Holidays.

Saturday and Sunday though, different story. I will be taking the boat out to throw some swimbaits and do some flippin.

Gettin the boat out, hopefully around 5 am. I hope to fish all day. And the same thing for Saturday and Sunday. Family is going away, so no obligations other than fishing.

In N.Cal (lake Oroville) it's the lake lice weekend. Wake boarders, tubers, skiers, jet skies, ect. As I said, LAKE LICE!

We are taking the Pelican (two man little boat with a 35 thrust trolling motor) on one of the big ponds. It's about 20 acres. :-)

Tomorrow is probably the worst day of the year to take the boat out. Too many personal water craft and pleasure boat riders for me. They don't respect the fishermen.

Won't even touch a rod. I live on the lake. I let the idiots have it on holidays, I can fish after the weekend warriors go home.

Several of our local lakes are HP limited to 9.9hp so the are still good to fish even with the holiday as the pleasure boats and Jet Skis all head to the river.  Im looking forward to getting out some tomorrow.

Only way I would go near a lake on the 4th is to watch the ramp. Id say you could laugh all day at the guys who bring the boats out a couple times a year.

Taking my new(ish) girlfriend out to a nice small sized lake for some shore fishing and some grab-ass'n. Then some heavy boozing with my good buddies, and eating too much grilled meat.

My plans are to stay away from any type of body of water as there will be about 10,000 people per drop of water in/around said lakes and rivers and such.

I will be heading out on the lake at my in-laws lake house after a little sleep in. Just got here around 2:30am after a full days work and 6 hour drive so no super early rise for me. Everyone have fun and be safe!!

No water for me this weekend, thankfully.

Legion Post today, and then a trip to Battle Creek with a couple of the grandkids on Saturday.  USAF Thunderbirds are part of this year's airshow and while I've seen them a number of times, these kids never have.

The only engine I'll be starting today is the one on my lawn tractor.  I refuse to even go near Ky Lake on holidays/weekends.

This about sums it up for me too. Besides the fishing has been slow here for a week or two as well, so that makes the decision that much easier. I'll be back after the morons go away, and hopefully the post spawn funk will be over and the bite will be better by then.

Went fishing this morning started around 5:45 and the fish were on FIRE!! Then the bite completely shut down around 7:30ish. I hit up 3 other spots and not a single bite.

Going to Rodman Reserviour with my two buddies tomorrow we are meeting up around 3:30a then we are heading out! I hope the fish are on fire there I have heard good reviews from the past couple weeks. Then in the afternoon we are having a fishing cookout with about 15-20 of us local bass anglers from Jacksonville from a Facebook group that I put together.

Fireworks cancelled for tonight, Walkway over the Hudson tomorrow night!

Work 6-6, surf BR when I have a minute!

Working until midnight. Dealing with drunks and speeders all day. Lucky me!

No  plans I am going to stay home and let the weekend  warriors have the water and roads.

Went out to Lady Bird Lake in Austin this morning at 6am. This lake is electric motor only lake. I avoided usual Lake Austin, which was said to be super crazy this weekend. Since I am new in the area I didn't know what to expect at the lake I went, but it was nothing different from the last time I went. Caught a couple of 4 #'s on buzz bait early. Later switched to plastic and missed three. Out from the water by 10a. Went out to lunch/shopping with my daughter.

We have our annual lechon (pig-roast) on July 3rd, along with the neighborhood bonfire and Weymouth (town across the bay) fireworks so with that covered, it's off to my day shift at the FD on the 4th.  I'll get home from work and the family will be back, finishing off yesterday's leftovers.

I ain't doing any fishing :( I'm taking my little cousins to go see the firework show at the amusement park later
