Fishing In The Rain

Featured Replies

Found myself out in the rain today exploring some new potential spots. Didn't have a single bite at any of the three ponds I went to today. Im trying to figure out if theyre just crummy spots, or if the rain had anything to do with it. Any thoughts or experiences with fishing in the rain?

I have had some of my better numbers days in the rain, also in march rainy cold caught them bigger girls then.... I have also busted a gooseegg to on rain days.

I luv fishing in the rain and think that fish are far less spooky also....I like a noisier faster moving lure in the rain to get their attention from the rain.

Id rather fish in the rain then any other weather. I think that the likely hood of catching a bigger bass increases.

Love rainy days....especially when not windy

:)

Sometimes rain is your friend. Some of my bigger fish have come on rainy days.

same here.... rainy days and a white spinnerbait have almost always produced good numbers...

Well, guys, I never had any luck in the rain.  Never tried much, but I'll do so next time it rains using some tips here.

Thanks!

If it has rained for a few days in a row I usually will not catch much of anything but if a light rain hits with no wind, I love it.  My favorite is to break out some topwater lures.  I usually get some big hits.

I love the rain but hate the lightning. I got stuck in a bad storm on Toledo Bend and it felt like the bolts were chasing my boat! The fish were biting good but not good enough to die for.

Fished in the rain today aswell and caught my first bass from a topwater lure.

Was using a heddon torpedo. Was not a bad day actually caught 3 smallies and that first one was not a bad size.

Fishing in the rain is win man

go for it. i love fishing in the rain. topwater is ther way to go in the rain.

Fish do not mind getting wet ;)

Down here on the gulf coast there is a 20-40% chance of scattered rain every day. A slicker suit is part of our perminate tackle!

In the rain, I feel I no longer need to move like a prowler

I have no idea why more people don't fish in the rain. Usually it is pretty good fishing for bigger fish. I was out fishing yesterday and it rained for awhile. Most people left the lake. I did not and I am glad I didn't.
