Which fish attractants are good to use on plastic worms?  Is there an advantage to using them?

I use MegaStrike on my soft plastics. One advantage to MegaStrike is it supposed to help the soft plastic pull through the weeds easier, almost like a lubricant.

I agree with jar11591. Megastrike is very sticky and stays on your bait much better than most, for a longer period of time. Seems to do a good job of masking offensive human odors and does keep fish holding onto your bait longer - in my experience anyway. Scent in any form or manufacture, is all about confidence and putting the odds in your favor.  And I don't believe there are any studies wherein modern day scent additives have actually repelled fish. So, if you believe in it, it works!

I don't generally use attractant because the plastics I use (Gulp, Powerbait) already have scent in them. I have tried a couple different scents, but they have not made much of a difference. I just don't have enough confidence in them.

I like Hog Tonic. Power Team Lures has a winner with that stuff.

I like JJ's and Megastrike. Do they work? Well, for me they do.

Not always. I fish Shimano, St. Croix, Yo-Zuri, GYCB, Megabass,

Lucky Craft and Kietech just to name a few non-sponsored brands.

However, I was using MegaStike long before I joined BassResource

in 2004. I think the "goo" is a GREAT product!

x2 on the Hog Tonic!  This has been the scent I've been the happiest with for soft plastics.  I use my Megastrike for hard baits like spinnerbaits, and crankbaits.

I only use JJs but haven't tried megastrike. I don't know if the scent from JJs makes a difference but I think it might make them think its real that 1-2 extra seconds. I use it mainly for the colors

vegatable oil to help worms slide through grass when flipping or pitching....soak all soft baits in a tub of berkely gulp and if you buy a tub on sale for about $10-12 It doesnt matter if it is saltwater gulp or freshwater...I don't believe they change scent, that is any company who markets fresh or saltwater scented baits....I love pro cure if I want some Glow which I always thought was a scam to catch fiherman, although I knew it was good for saltwater fishing. I have discovered a Pro cure gel in menhaden and shrimp (only 2 that were left from sale) often will cause fish that are inactive to start striking, and it is the glowing effect it has since i use alot of scent and nothing beats the powerbait/gulp/trigger x in my opinion..

 

I would use Megastrike if I found it on sale as I have never seen a study or noticed a certain brand better than another or more importantly been on the boat fishing with someone who was killing them and the scent was the differrence.

 

I started using more scent after getting crushed by a fishing  buddy on out first trip a few months ago and he dipped his topwater, crank, worm, but also stuffed cottom with scent in tubes, and also added feather trailers to jerkbaits so he could get more scent..I thought it was a waste of time, but became sold when my un scented traps were getting a few strikes, but his soaked and pasted traps were bringing fish to the boat, and they were hitting his lures, so now I created the Gulp tub with big Flukes, left a few, added in some senkos and grubs, beavers etc, soak them all week, and dip them after every few casts and I am convinced it works better than using any lure without scent....

wd-40...  works like a dream as a cover scent...

The only one I have seen work well is Megastrike.  The one that gives me a chuckle is Strike Kings Coffee attractant.

Still using the Smelly Jelly after many years.  I've always been a believer that if it gets me one more strike it's worth it.  "I believe" I've also fished long enough that I've seen days where scents will get you a few more bites.

It's Megastrike for me. I use it on all of my soft plastics, even those already infused with scent. I believe the fish hold on longer with some Megastrike on them. That's my confidence booster..

Whether they work or not is debatable, but they can't hurt. I put a drop or two in my plastic bags. I keep the boat clean that way. If you think it helps, I'm sure it will!
