"football" Weight For Carolina Rig??

Featured Replies

Is there a good weight for C-rigging the occasional rocky bottom? Was thinking that someone probably has come up with a football weight for this, but haven't found.

How hard do you think it would be to drill a lead egg sinker to make it a football weight?

Great news I am sure it will be used by a lot of folks too! Nice tip...

There some walleye sinkers made by lindy and others that are basically a long tube filled with lead or shot. I dont fish a carolina rig a lot but ive use these with success in rocky areas and didnt get hung near as much as i did with bullet or egg style sinkers

I prefer the Mojo Carolina sinkers when fishing in those areas.

Check out Jewel Bait the Rock Carolina rig football weights. They have them for sale at TW.  I also saw them at a local store last night.

Weight depends on how deep your fishing, and wind.

Normal day for me, I'll be dragging a c rig in 18-30 ft of water, with a bit of wind, I'll use usually 1/2 oz, sometimes 3/4 cause I want to feel the bottom and what I'm dragging over.. Good thing about the Carolina rig is it don't matter really how heavy of a weight u use because the least isn't attached to it so the finsh won't really feel the weight.
