Okay guys which is correct when talking about one person! "Fisherman" or "Fishermen"?

Like would you say "he is a fishermen" or "he is a fisherman"?

Or is one plural and one singular

hahaha sorry I'm dumb

A = One as in man or woman.

E = Two or more as in men or women.

Fishermen is plural... Fisherman in singular.

What orobass said, This would have been covered in about the first 2-3 weeks of third grade when I was in school. How old are you?

If this was a serious question, you lost a lot of credibility points asking that in public!

Man = singular, men = plural.

Funk and Wagenalls or a hard back dictionary may no longer be in vogue, but a google search would have yielded the answer quicker than it took to make the opening post.

It was more of a joke guys because me and my friend were joking around and arguing about it. But like every post some people have to take stuff seriously.

Like sirsnookalot said, if I was being serious I could have easily googled this

Sorry, it was that "GA" in your location that threw me off!

That's what I get for trying to be nice for a change.

Obviously spelling and grammar are different- but when "talking" or "saying", anyone else but me say the two words exactly the same?  Possibly just my plain old Midwestern dialect but figured it has to be somewhat universal, or the fact possibly I just don't enunciate clearly.

i.e. someone may state..."that Nice_Bass is the best fisherman I know, better than all the fishermen I have ever met combined"   :bushy-browed:

I pronounce them both exactly the same...

I say fishermen even when I'm talking about one person. Because that's just how I talk haha

yup, same here, and I would bet most folks as well.

Fisherperson or fisherpeople for the PC crowd.

So is it "Pet Smart" or Pets Mart"
