Wacky Rigging A Finesse Worm

Featured Replies

I have always just wacky rigged senkos but was wondering if I'm missing out by not using finesse worms or trick worms. Are there times when using these work better then senkos? I always rig weightless with a senko. Should I put a finesse or trick worm on a wacky weighted jig to get some depth? Any info. Is appreciated.

I have had a lot of luck on a 1/16 wacky jighead and a jackal flick shake worm. However, I think a trick worm would work well also.

However, do NOT, and I repeat... Do NOT wacky rig a 3.5 inch lake fork tackle magic shad with a 1/16 weedless buckeye wacky jighead. Ever. Seriously. Total waste of time.

You can wacky just about any bait that has a decent horizontal presentation.

I love rigging Zoom Finesse worms wacky style. I'll rig both weighted, and weightless.

The nail weighted wacky rigged finesse worm is very effective.

Trick worm with a 1/16oz wacky jighead was the only thing I could get the smallies to eat a month ago.

When the bite is tough, and jigs, creature baits, frogs, crankbaits, etc...are hauling water, I wacky rig a senko type bait..........when it's super tough, I wacky rig a trick/finesse type worm. My worm of choice is the Havoc Bottom hopper, on a 1/16th or 1/8th oz. VMC wacky jig or on a drop shot. It's been a very tough year on my home lake. But this has helped me to a win, and two 2nd place finishes, and lunker money when every one else is hauling water that day.

I've had luck wacky rigging Zoom Trick Worms and Zoom Swap Crawlers with a 1/16 oz jig head.  I've also whacky rigged Slug-Gos and Zoom Flukes and caught fish.  Nothing wrong with experimentation.  On the flip side I've fished Senkos texas rigged and Carolina rigged (both wacky hooked and texas rigged) and caught fish as well.

stuff a drywall nail in the end of that wacjy rig and see what happens.

Whenever I'm having trouble hooking up with my dropshot rig i hook it wacky style and catch the hell out of them.
