Info On Mccoy Mean Green

Featured Replies

My local tackle store has started to carry McCoy Mean Green line.  I have used Yozuri Hybrid for years and love the line.  However, I can't buy it locally or really even close to my home.  A Bass Pro Shop that is just over 2 hours away doesn't carry it anymore either.  I like the idea of just going to the local tackle store and getting what I need.  My local dealer told me that if I like Yozuri Hybrid that I will love the Mean Green.  Thoughts . . .

I've tried the mccoy extra clear. I love it. The abrasion resistance is a little lacking just a tiny bit. But I fish a lot of cover and never had a break off. The line just gets a little rough. Barely any line memory. Mean green is pretty similar to extra clear I was told. The sensitivity is pretty good too.

Have read a lot of good comments about Mean Green.  Keep meaning to try some.  I'd give it a shot if I were you.  Like you I prefer to buy locally if at all possible.......when line goes on sale.

That line was recommended to me when I first started bass fishing. Absolutely loved it. I have not used it in a while but cannot remember having any problems with it.

i use it on all my setups except my braid setups. i love the line. very little memory. love the blue fluorescent

Go for it. It is a copoly very similar to what you were using.

IMO its a more supple version of yozuri hybrid.  I really like it, low memory, decent abrasion resistance, low stretch, good sensitivity, and the price is right!  I was under the impression that xtra clear and mean green were basically the same other than the color.

You'll love it. Absolutely no memory, just a few casts and it'll be limp again.

It's really strong too, I have never broken off once with this line. Once the colour starts to fade or gets rough, time to change it out. It's cheap enough to do it often as well. Do yourself a favour and buy the mini bulk spool of what you use most.

People should give this line a try if they are using co-polymer. You won't be disappointed. In fact, I've never even heard a bad review on this line before.

Mccoy is the only copolymer I use now. Way better than Yozuri Hybrid. I use the CBF but I'm sure the green is just as good.

I tried it a few years ago and it is not bad.  I would compare it to something between Yozuri hybrid and Yozuri hybrid ultra soft.

I have not used it, but I have a friend who has used it for years and swears by it.

Great line. Can't go wrong with it. I have 12 lb and 15 lb spooled up on most of my setups.
