Which brand makes the best of these in your opinion?

 

Braid?

Mono?

Sunline, Sunline, and did I mention Sunline?

I don't use mono.  My all braid setups get Power Pro Super Slick, my fluoro setups get Sunline Sniper, and my fluoro leaders are Sunline Sniper as well.

Mono - Sunline Defier. Nothing else compares.

Braid - Seaguar Smackdown. Best braid I've used to date.

Fluorocarbon - It's a wash and really depends on what characteristics you're looking for in a fluorocarbon.

The only item of Seaguar that I would ever pick over Sunline would be Tatsu, but I can't justify the added price so Sunline for all categories aside from Tatsu. 

Mono - Sunline Defier. Nothing else compares.

Been curious, but haven't heard much about the smackdown, can you give us some more insight please?

after trying many different FC line, i settled on seaguar although i had occasional breakage issues with invisx and abrazx that i simply chalked up to "that's just how fluorocarbon is". well, this last spool of 14 lb. abrazx i got was constantly breaking off fish...at first, i thought i had knicked or kinked the line so i was being extra careful and watching everything from the knot to the making sure there were no kinks and it was still breaking. i even had a nice fish break off on the first cast after a fresh respool. i wrote to seaguar several times with no response so this prompted me to try sunline and, boy, am i glad i did. super FC sniper is superior to abrazx and invisx in every way and no more breakoffs, period. i have not tried tatsu.

 

as for mono, i have not used that in years.

 

seaguar kanzen braid is good stuff. have not used sunline braids yet because i have tons of spools of other brands.

Braid - after switch between pp, 832, and sunline fx2 I like 832 the best

Mono- so many choices (esp if you count copolys in this category) and there's so many that do a good job, I tend to use suffix siege because it's pretty cheap and does a good job

Fluoro- haven't used it enough to have a preference.

Mono, there are several premium mono lines, Sunline Diefer

Fuoro, TT has their FPI rating system, limited to a few brands to date. I use Sunline Super Sniper green for everyday and Blackwater Toray Soloroam Hi-Class Bass for pre spawn when target giant bass.

Smackdown is a lot like SS8 minus the fraying. Likely from the coating they use. It does everything very well. To me it's like the Defier of braids. Premium casting, little to no noise, ties knots super well and easy. Feels and fishes fantastic

I keep things simple.

Braid = original power pro

Mono = yo zuri hybrid

Fluoro = Sunline sniper

Braid: 832

Mono: Big Game

Fluoro: FC Sniper

Braid:  PP SS8

 

Mono: Cheapest I can buy for backing.

 

Fluro:  Tatsu 

Braid:  Seaguar Smackdown (15lb spinning, 50+ for flip n pitch)

Mono:  Seaguar Senshi (15lb topwater rod)

Fluoro:  Seaguar InvizX (6lb - 15lb - all other rods.)

Mono: Senshi is awesome, but I honestly like Suffix Elite. 

Braid: Just replace FX2, too loud, with Smackdown, will try it tomorrow night. 

Fluoro: Sniper is the best all round. But I tend to like a bit of stretch, so I use Sunline Reaction. But if I'm flip/pitching or finesse-ing, I like abrazx.

Braid: Smackdown.

I just switched from tatsu to sniper and I like the sniper better. It seems to be far more abrasion resistant than tatsu. I loved the sensitivity of the tatsu but it was getting nicked up rather easily pitching docks. The sniper is pretty close to the sensitivity of tatsu, but takes a beating.

Sunline.

Sunline makes the best line whatever the type. :)
