whats the best baitcaster you've got for 50$ or less? weather it be your first ever or just something you liked and gave a try.

I can honestly say that I got my pfluger criterion for 50$ when i needed a reel desprately while on vacation and it feels as good if not slightly better than a lot of reels in the 100$ price range. I still have it to this day and still use it. 5bb and 6.3-1 ratio. A great buy for 50 bones.

I still love my Abu Garcia Silver Max.  That is in that price range I believe.

yea man sure is haha i was thinking of gettion one of those.

Pfluger templar. Lasted a long time too. My first baitcaster with more than two bearings with 7. After about two years it just got real noisy casting.

Abu 4600C3. Bought it used for $40, Abu ProMax 3600 for $5 at a yard sale.

Check out the used market, you can often buy a like-new reel for around half (or even less) of retail.

I have several reels at $50 or less.  Here is one of my favorites in that range.  http://tackletour.com/reviewdaiwaprocaster.html%C2'> $30 on closeout.  I also enjoy my Pflueger Trions (well one left now cuz I gave one away).  Both purchased used within that range.  Ambassadeur Black Max 1600Cs were another excellent surprise at $33.33 each.  Hard to backlash, handle light lures and high winds quite well.

The Abu Garcia "Max" line is great.  Black Max, Silver Max and Pro Max.  You can get the Black for $40, Sivler for $50 and Pro for $60 (I know, this is over the $50 mark) but they are all great reels.

I got a Citica D for around $50 that I like quite a bit.

Ditto. Exact same experience and it went all at once.

Two used TD-X I got for around $40 each. Used > cheap new stuff.

Two Ambassadeur 5000's, $29.95 each. Oh.... I bought them in 1969. Still work, and I still occasionally

use them.

X2. For a brand new reel, the best use of $50 is to save up another $20 and put on a PQ when they go on sale (regularly).

5500. No bloody A, B, C, or D. :D

The Abu Garcia pro max is a great reel. You can get it off the outdoor pro for $50.
