I have been fishing in a pond behind me house lately.  It is extremely hard to get a bait in the water without it being caught on grass piles.  Does anyone have any tips or tricks on a weedless set up i could use?  I use a Quantum spinning reel with a 7 foot medium action rod with 10 pound fluro.

Drop senkos into pockets.  It would be tough to punch with that setup.

Topwater, spinnerbaits, and paddletail swimbaits just to name a few

Basically any soft plastic can be made weedless. Swimbaits chatter baits swim jigs. If its not all the way to the top you could throw something like a minus 1 also,

I'd be all about a t-rigged worm with a bobber stop to peg. I'd use a straight tail worm instead of a u-tail as the straight tail will fall through grass better.

for weightless peg a glass/plastic bead in front of the senko and it will glide thru weeds easier.

or peg the bullet weight as mentioned if you want to slow work it deeper in weeds. 

 

stanley top toads are good reaction lures that won't get hung up. and you can pause them. buzzbaits work also but are more advanced in that you have to be reeling before they hit the water to immediately get them up on plane. otherwise they collect weeds if they sink at all.

frogs also.

 

i'd focus on deeper water access. where the weed line ends and the deeper water starts. cast to that weed edge.  

and forget about buying tons of new lures and dozens of rods to deal with the weedy shallow shoreline...buy a kayak and paddle out to deeper water and bigger fish!

Take a rage craw,toad or shad and texas rig it. With a steady reel itll glide over just like a buzzbait. Since you have a spinning rod id make medium length casts, just to keep your landing ratio up. Once they get there heads in that stuff its incredibly tough to land em without luck on your side.

Another option, get a spare spool for your reel anputbraid on it. Now tie on a frog, an hold on!

How bout a frog on the really thick stuff? It's pretty easy and you don't have to reel constantly.

Is the grass matted on the surface or under the water a couple of feet?  If the grass is under the water a little I would use a shallow running crankbait.  If there are clumps on the surface I would try a t-rigged weightless plastic.

People always ask me why I have 6 rods.  This is why I have 6 rods.  I would be punching but it will be hard with a Medium action rod.  You won't be able to get that much weight on that rod.

 

Here is what I would do in your situation.  Rig a senko weightless t-rigged.  Take a nail weight and stick it in the tail.  This gives the senko a more vertical profile so it slides down through the grass easier.  You make have to work it a little to get it to drop through but once it does, hang on.
