Walleye Stinger Hooks

Featured Replies

I've been walleye fishing more and more in the rivers with 3/4-1oz jig heads with a 4-4.5" trailer.  This is working great for me but the problem I'm running into is crappy stinger hooks.  What brand stingers do you all use and what size hook do you like?  I'm having a lot of issues with the hooks breaking on fish and need something better.

I'm really considering building my own with some owner Stingers.

Yup.  I make my own for northerns, only difference is I use Cortland Toothy critter instead of braid.

You guys are right.  I'll build them.  What size hook do you guys like.  I'm thinking 10's

Uhhh, 2/0, lol.

8 or 10 should probably work without messing with the action.
