Its got all the standards of the price range. Certainly a nice reel.

The make a casting reel called the Supreme, and also a spinning one. So you might want to specify which one you're asking about. I've never handled the baitcasting one myself.

If this is for the spinning reel Cabelas just had the Supreme XT for $100 Id rate that a 5 at $100.

As mentioned above, if you are referring to the Spinning Version, I would give it a 5 (I never used the Baitcasting model). Every spinning rod I own has a Supreme (from my NRX's to my Cabelas XML's). Just a great reel independent of price.

At $100 I'd rate a Supreme XT at around a 13 or 14 haha

I don't think I would rather have any other spinning reel at the 100 dollar price.

For FunkJishing Its still on sale for $120 if you can stretch your budget. I have a SupremeXT too been a great reel.

For Veterans Day sale another $20 off $100 spent was what put it at $100.

I own this particular model and it's over 10 years old. It has performed like a champ and still goes with me on my fishing trips to catch the LMB. 6:3:1, 5 bearings and brings in 26 inches per handle turn with a flipping switch. Bought it from BPS year end move 'em out sale. Normally 99.99. I got it for 69.99 with no shipping charge.

Old school basser...

Never tried the supreme, but I love my president, and it costs $40 less...I would assume that the supreme is great too!

What are the practical differences between the President and its upgraded brethren? From what I can determine, it's pretty much looks, a smidgen of weight, and carbon drag?

Probably the biggest differences between the President and the Supreme are the Supreme come with an extra spool, uses a magnesium frame, and a titanium line roller.  I am sure there are other differences but these stand out.

If you want ratings why don't you just look at on line reviews? Pflueger makes decent reels. All I've owned started acting up in one way or another after a year or so of solid use, but still functional by all means.

My 3 freshwater spinning reels are all Supremes, 25, 30 and 35.  All of them are a good 5-6 years old requiring nothing more than a drop oil every now and then, these reels are used nearly daily 12 months of the year, nuff said.

I own two Supremes (9025XT & 8025MG) & two Presidents - all spinning reels.  They have not let me down. Best bang for your bucks.

im talking about the baitcaster. lol and judging by the reviews its a little better than the president.

along with those diffrences the supreme is smoother at higher retrieve speeds. apparently the president feels a little rougher when reeling fast.

I can't stand pflueger spinning reels. I've had constant line twist and wind knot issues with every one ive used. And they all have that two piece bail that somehow always seems to catch light line. If they got rid of that bail and had line management like shimanos I'd give them a shot again.

So which one is it that is giving you the problems?

line twist ushually isn't the reels fault man. most times it's from not watching your line, reeling against the drag, and mono or lines with lots of memory that need to be broken in.

All spinning reels create line twist when reeling. Some reels just do a better job of decreasing it.
