Fattest Bass

Featured Replies

I've seen some state record class fish in a couple of them.

Care to share which ones?   I know the trout pit is probably the main one.

Did not measure her but I think the length & girth were very similar. Caught on a NorthStar  hidden head spinner bait.

  • I caught this one this past spring. 19 inches long, I did not weigh it or measure the girth.

Trout pit for sure is the main one. There's a pit also in unit 30 that's straight south of the Trout pit that has monsters in it. I had one full on eat a 12-13 inch bass I was fighting in on a jerkbait one spring. The small bass had the bait crossways and all the hooks in it's face so nothing to stick that monster with. Eventually she got tired of playing with that little fish, spit it out and sank out of sight. It was without a doubt a DD fish, and probably pushing state record size. The big pit in 41 has some monsters in it, probably mostly thanks to the monster shad that live in that one along with the overall size of the pit. I'm sure you're well aware that none of them give up fish easily though, so you have to work hard for them.
