Hey everyone, I'm new to these forums. I'm a 15 year old guy from Sarasota, Florida. If there is a body of water with fish in my area, I have probably fished it. I am an aspiring pro fisherman, and hope to one day start up my own guiding service. When I'm not bass fishing, I'm probably fishing in saltwater for snook, redfish, trout or other saltwater fish. Or I'm in school thinking about fishing. Because I don't have a car, I dont't really fish anwhere other than ponds, so I have to find places on google maps and bike/walk to them. You'd be suprised at the big bass that can be caught in these little local ponds, or maybe you wouldn't. Anyways, that's a little bit about me. Oh, and is there anyone else who fishes the Sarasota area on here? Thanks for reading.

Welcome aboard!

Welcome! I am from NY but often head down to my other house in South FL in Boyton Beach to fish community lakes and golf course ponds. They are amazing and hold big bass- i agree with you!

Welcome!

I live about 40 miles south of you. And yes the ponds and canals up your way, and all along the coast are loaded with fish, especially the ones that are hard to get too.

When you get some transportation and can come farther south let me know.

There is some water in the not so congeasted areas around here that will make you drool ;)

Mike

Greetings and Welcome to the forums :)

Thanks everyone! I forgot to include how long I've been fishing like it says to be sure to do... Er... I can't even remember the first time I went fishing. I have been fishing my whole entire life, but only have been getting more seriously into fishing and gear the last 2 years. Before that it was just an Ugly Stik lite, 10 pound braid and a hotdog on a circlehook. Good times.

Welcome SRQ. Sarasota is a beautiful place. We vacation there every summer with the kids.

I enjoy seeing the influx of younger anglers on the forums. You will learn more than you can imagine participating on here.

It really is a beautiful place, and has a lot more bass fishing opportunities than many people realise. Glad to be a part of the forum and keeping the sport alive
