How To Rig A Rage Bug

Featured Replies

So Christmas came a bit early for me, I took advantage of Mike Siebert's sale and ordered some of these infamous Rage Bugs I've been seeing all over the place.

I rarely do any punching, so would you recommend rigging it T-rig? Weightless? Or is this one of those baits that works pretty much any way you rig it?

Works great as a jig trailer too

T-rig is fine,  so is the Rage Rig and shaky head. However, I have had GREAT luck

with the Jika Rig and using the Rage Bug as a Chatterbait trailer!

I primarily use it on weighted 4/0 EWG.  But last few weeks of the season, I put it on a Biffle Hardhead swinging jig with fantastic results.

This

T-rig and rage rig. I caught tons of bass putting them on a unconventional flipping setup, 1/4 oz weight and a 4/0 hook through small surface weeds. That was in a small lake in north east Ohio though. I would drop it on the weeds and shake it till it slipped down in the weeds instead of a straight plunge it worked well In clear water. Also killed on brush piles. Try everything

Shaky head

The JIKA rig is an excellent presentation.

The Bug is great no matter how you rig it. For punching, rig it on a heavy wire 4/0-5/0, and peg your weight on braided line.

i won a lot of money this past fall on the rage bug, i rigged it on a biffle hard head/ swing head.... caught tons of bass texas rigging it but the big fish wanted it as a jig trailer
