What To Use On My Rod Leftover?

Featured Replies

Hey guys I got a new rod about a month ago and I now use it for swimjigs, spinnerbaits, lipless cranks, spoons and tubes. I have a 6'6'' medium/fast rod leftover. I know that topwaters would be good on it and so would jerkbaits but, are there any other applications that I could use this rod for? I was thinking maybe giving whacky worming a try with a senko. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Definitely can use it for wacky rigging, my M/F BCs and Spinning rods all are my fluke roads and on top of that texas rig weightless plastics and splitshots.

Spinnerbaits and Jerkbaits would be my choice but I don't see why it would not work for wacky rigged soft plastic.  You could also use this for light swim jigs as well.

That's about the most versatile rod there is. Worms and lipless cranks come to my mind.

Hmm i always thought mh/f was considered the most versatile. I think ill use the rod for jerks, tops and wacky but, I have read to use fluoro for wacky and and I know for top fluoro is a no no . Any suggestion for lines to use to accommodate all these lures, if thats possible.

6' 6" Mf is a very versatile rod. I fish just about every reaction bait on it (aside from cranks) there's just something about the short rod that I love.
