Featured Replies

-Developing techniques I am not strong in/becoming versatile with confidence

-proving to my college club that I can compete with the best of them/win a club tourney

-After using a spinning rod my entire life I have trouble controlling fish/landing them on a bait-caster (this season was my first using them) so gotta get better

I'm always working on my metal attitude... but that's just me.                 But seriously I plan on trying to do more deep structure fishing, and (not bass fishing) trying to step up my dry f

I'd really like to try and break out of some old established patterns and work on some new ones- which is why I just bought some new lures that will make me fish differently.   I never do jigging or

Learn to fish jigs better and buy a boat.

Mine are similar. Focus on jig fishing, and buy my kayak! Hah

I have a 4 year old who thinks I'm pretty cool. My main resolution is to get her on the water as soon as possible. The other is to fish my first tournament with my main fishing buddy.

I would like to catch a bass every trip in the spring .

Mine are similar. Focus on jig fishing, and buy my kayak! Hah

I have really struggled with jigs. The few fish that I have caught on them have been fun and larger on average also. I've got two kayaks, I gotta get something for bigger waters haha!

Then it seems like I am a few years behind you!

Simply to find the time to fish more.

I don't make resolutions but if I am going to make some here they are:

 1.  Get out earlier in the spring time to fish from my kayaks.  I'm talking early March here in Indiana.

 2.  Find a tournament or two where I can be a co-angler for the first time.  I've never competed before (or been in a bass boat).  I would like to find a welcoming bass tournament club and try it out once or maybe twice.

To take the time during the summer and hit the local rivers on weekdays.

To learn more the local waters I fish.

Fish more and get my new personal best...

Improve my spinner bait & chatter bait game. I'm also still chasing the double digit bass as well.

My plan is to do my best to fish every single day possible and try to improve my jig fishing skills, and of course try to catch a new PB.

I'm usually pretty quiet when fighting a fish...but I am resolving this year to not say:

She 'bout ripped the rod outta my hands! ,,,Maybe I better get a better grip on my rod!

Oh my gosh it's a giant...(then after seeing the fish) ..well it's not as big as I thought, but I'll take it! ...What are you going to do, not take it?

I can't believe there's not a fish on that laydown! Of course there is, I just didn't fish good enough to catch it!

I could go on, but as they say...you can't catch em sitting on the couch!

Happy New Year y'all.

To improve my overall fishing abilities. Catch a new PB.

-Get better at crankbait fishing all around.

-Win a school tournament

-Learn slower fishing techniques

-Catch more 5+ pounders

-Catch some swimbait fish.

I dont really like swimbaits... Not a strength for me...

I want to catch a bass on a fly rod

Fish more on the lake where we stay instead of running all over the Northwoods.

Not worry about new techniques too much, just throw topwaters all day (and some dropshotting when I have to).

I'll be starting my masters program tomorrow so maybe I won't do any of these but I'll sure try.

I need to learn to be more willing to change things up when I'm not doing well, instead of continuing to try to force-feed the bass my favorite baits.

Tight lines,

Bob

I really need to add top water to my skill set. I'm going to hit that hard this year. I just haven't dabbled in it much.

I also need to improve my walleye fishing. This is the year i'm going to get more comfortable with lindy rigs.

Try to gain more confidence in jigs. Catch a fish on a fluke, lizard, tube, and chatterbait.

try and get my wife out on the water a little more....

To catch a state record, then turn around and use it as live bait to catch a new world record all right here in NJ.

But back to reality, to better ones self/skill/pb I feel should go without saying. I was thinking about something a little more simpler...like buying a gopro to record my outtings. Then I could rewatch the seasons highlights during these horrid winter months.

like many others it's my goal again to catch a new PB, and always better myself as an all around angler.

Reality is, it's a goal to relax more and just go fishing as often as I can, even if just to a local pond for 15-20 minutes.

A more specific goal is to catch fish offshore - something that I am really bad at.

Edit-in light of a recent purchase to catch a fish on my first big swimbait. An 8inch savage gear line thru trout

Tight lines

Work on my drop shotting and work on my fly casting. I also wouldn't mind going musky fishing -- for a northern Ontario boy to have never gone after them even once...
