I'm always working on my metal attitude... but that's just me.                 But seriously I plan on trying to do more deep structure fishing, and (not bass fishing) trying to step up my dry f

I'd really like to try and break out of some old established patterns and work on some new ones- which is why I just bought some new lures that will make me fish differently.   I never do jigging or

Catch a pig on a jig start finding the bigger fish rather than the small ones. And fish more ( I know that that won't happen since I'm going to lose my summer)

I want to fish more for smallies, and spots.

Tournament Goal:  Last two years I floundered in the last 2 tournaments to drop out of contention for BOBA.  I need to figure that out.

Fishing Techniques:  Refine my drop shot game.  Build my crankbait game.  Explore spybaiting for Smallies.

Personal:  Maintain my weight loss.

What ever happened to your "In Pursuit of Giant Bass Thread"? I liked following along there.

My goals are to catch a new PB and fish my first tournament.

Thank You very much for the support I really do appreciate it.

The Stitching method I was using for the first time in that thread, turned out to be mostly a bust for my home waters.  Either that or I'm a hack.

Like many of us, I'm still In Pursuit of Giant Bass.  Strangely, most of my success has come from south of the border.   This season will see me making the big swim bait commitment locally.  Have actually considered a thread on it  . . . . . .  maybe I should.

Maybe you can do a thread on fishing big swim baits for smallies.

And though I'll be "Targeting" the Big Mouth model, any Mutant Bronzeback that happens along will be deftly netted and displayed most proudly by my personal self.

This is a quest that I should dive into further, but first I need a boat to get onto the smallmouth waters. I've caught several on swimbaits up to 7", but none have been very big other than one that was 4 pounds (a dink for you Dwight, I know, but with a state record of just 6.88, that's a big smallie here).

Gotta work on the mid and shallow crankin

And i WILL catch a fish in a stupid a-rig lol

And learn to use the electronics that i will be installing this spring ...never had em really

Every year I say I will be getting into swimbaits but never do. I bought some little swimbaits like the shellcracker last year but never used them. I think this may be the year I actually do it. The problem is, is that I cant decide if I want to get a metanium for a nice bladed jig setup or a calcutta D for swimbaits.  :cry4:

# 1 is get a boat.  Don't want or need anything fancy.  # 2 work on my finesse technique

Get in a tournament and try a wider variety of baits/techniques, just opened my order with lots of dropshot stuff in it!

My goal is to learn to fish mid to deep crankbaits.  Last year (this) I put alot into jerkbaits.  I feel like I have a good handle on them now.  I am a big believer in confidence.  You have to give things a try and do well on them to get that confidence.  If I can gain confidence in deeper diving crankbaits, I will feel better about my chances in any situation. (tournament)

Jig fishing is another one of mine. I recently made an order from Siebert Outdoors for some good ones. Can't wait to try them out and get good with them.

Don't overlook the s-waver 168 for smallies

19" almost 3lbs (you can tell by the weights that these aren't Dwight strain smallies)

Dwight, if you were to catch a 23" smallie, how much do you think it would weigh? (assuming it comes from the location where you get the other footballs)

Go on more deep wood adventures to reach the places that are unreachable. I only started doing it late in the season and there are many more secret places I need to find.

Flukes, Jigs, and spybaits are on my to do list for 2015.

Spy baits are crazy expensive though :cry4:

Do more fishing this year than the last few, I hope. Catch one bigger than 5lbs.

Show my 2 youngest how to drive the jon boat with the trolling motor so I can spend more time fishing and not driving. :)

I need to be more patient. I get to fish'n and I turn into a little kid, cast and reel, cast and reel. Also want to try for some Musky's. Just purchased a nice Jet Boat and hopefully Speedbead can lead me to some. Brian.

Fish Lake St. Clair more.  Try out Erie, and get up to Saginaw bay and travel to some of the good small mouth lakes we have up here in northern Michigan.  As far as techniques, I need to work on my jig fishing more.

Just like I never set any fishing goals at the beginning of the year, I also don't make any New Year's fishing resolutions either. I do usually end up focusing my fishing efforts on one or two things every year, but I just let whatever those things turn out to be develop on their own. Usually by early spring there is something that has caught my attention. If not, I just go fishing anyway and don't worry about it.

I'm with T9. No resolutions. Just fish and be open

to change when needed.

Learn to fish jigs better and buy a boat.
