Hey, lately i've been checking out some of these jointed swimbaits on Amazon. Really nice paints jobs and attention to detail, and the reviews say the action is pretty good as well.

tried them..decent enough for the money but the joints will break, just a matter of when.

I was thinking about using them for stripers and bluefish, you think the joints are that weak?

It's still worth it to try imo. You will see if swimbait fishing is your thing, before spending the big bucks.

If you are going to use a jointed lure for stripers, Bomber Long A jointed are about 8 bucks at Walmart and they are durable, I use them for snook and tarpon.  Bluefish have very strong jaws, diamond jigs and spoons is all that's really needed to catch them.

LOL, that ol' girl would give most baits a run for their money.

Not to hijack the thread but has anyone gone the Reaction Strike Revolution shad route?  Are they junk too?

Not a good choice of words. By toss, I meant a side arm lob type cast, they cast fairly well that way. They do look good swimming. Brian.

So you've used them? In your experience, how well do those joints hold up?

Caught a lot of fish on them but nothing big enough to check durability. I take a friends 14 year old Grandson with me, he ain't throwing a Tripple Trout or Dep's. They do catch fish, just haven't caught anything large. They're inexpensive also, bought him a pile of them, he tends to lose baits. Brian.

I have some of the latter mentioned ones. Got them in a lot of other stuff I bought on here. Joints look pretty cheap but I'm gonna give them a try. Will be awhile though... Hard water haunts my neighborhood...
