I know that there have been others, but the K.R.S. probably is the most famous for the impact it could have on the history of the U.S. if they can authenticate it.   Also the version of Rune it was written in is different and significant for what they call the hooked X.

Just an interesting subject just wondered if anyone else had any interest in it.

Sam if you like history and subjects like the Templar Knights and Nasca lines the K.R.S. might be a interesting read.   Give it a quick look, you might like it.

America unearthed did a show on it. There have been a few others. From what I've read and researched it seems like the real deal. Especially finding at least one other stone that is connected to the KRS. My favorite episode of America Unearthed is the tomb found in AZ from the 1300's the inscription contained the name of the person buried there. Later in the show records from the British Isles confirmed this man's identity and time he left seeking the new land.

That being said Scott Wolters grossly over states the assertion that Columbus found America. When I was in grade school in the late 70's, Columbus was credited with the first documented expedition, but there were several undocumented expeditions. We know the Vikings made it, some anecdotal evidence that the Phoenicians made it. Additionally there are several examples of arrowheads found in coastal VA and FL made from stone only found inn France. Out of place artifacts are everywhere you look.

I absolutely believe it to be real.  There are historic artifacts all over this continent that prove European settlers were here 100's if not 1000's of years prior to Columbus.

I still don't believe columbus should have any credit for finding america, after all he stumbled upon islands and not the main land. It's teachings like that 'columbus' in schools that make true findings more difficult to swallow since kids are pushed to believe something else at a younger age.

I think there may be some confusion, I believe Scott Wolters is a very strong proponent of pre Columbian contact in North America.

I know he is, my point wasn't clear, schools haven't taught that Columbus discovered America for about 40 years.

Sorry, misunderstood your post.  Yes I agree, and I think the resistance to validate the KRS as authentic lies with the fact that all of the history that has been and is still being taught would have to be corrected. Similar to the World is flat, oops it's round kind of thing.

The hooked X used in the writing on the KRS is another interesting topic.  It has the possibility of creating quite a stir in the religious community.

I read a bit on this, it still appears to be a 19th century fake.. Idk, it doesn't appear to record any laws or ideology, but appears more like a diary entry.. With directions.. What does it imply really?

I'm always neutral on these type of finds, but still don't see proof it's legit, maybe it is.. Can you recommend a link that's credible?

Next time you are bass fishing in beautiful Douglas county, Minnesota, stop and see the Kensington Runestone at the Runestone Museum in Alexandria. www.runestonemuseum.org .

This is lake country. The county just north of here, Otter Tail, has 1000 lakes!

Such as? Please explain.

Short answer The Da'Vinci code, I'll shoot u a pm with a better one. However, the hooked x theory which is a supposed tie to the Templars, even if proven true would have little impact on Protestantism and less on the Baptist faith. No the Baptist faith did not come out of the reformation but precedes it by about a thousand years. That's all that I'll say here, those wanting a more complete answer can pm me

I can't go into much detail because the discussion of religion and politics is not allowed on this site.  You can quickly find information in regards to the "Hooked X" and what it may  imply, by just doing a quick internet search.  I think I will be ok with saying that it involves the "Holy Grail" and maybe not in the terms your familiar with.

The KRS from my understanding is a corner stone marking the edge of property claimed by the writer. Another stone was found by following the direction inscribed, the land claim basically take in the great lakes and plains states.

As far as a 19th century hoax, not possible some of the runes had no counterpart until archeological digs found them in Europe.
