Who Uses Spro Little Johns?

Featured Replies

whats your fav color? under what conditions do you like using that color? thanks

I'd like to know too. I just found a place that was moving, selling a lot of inventory for cheap. I picked up some Little Johns for 6 bucks a piece.

I like shallow cranks, but is there anything technique-wise to these guys? They're pretty flat-sided.

They are terrible I'll give you 7 a piece for them.

The Little John MDs are deadly

I'm a huge fan of the little john md. Chrome olive is my favorite color and I always have one tied on to a rod no matter what time of year it is. I caught the big hybrid in my profile pic with one last year.

I have luck with spooky shad and the citrus shad i beleive are the names, and the brown craw color

I like them, haven't found a bad color yet. The fish in my avatar ate a chart/black back Fat John.

Have to agree that all colors seem to be good--have a pretty good selection of their colors and they all seem to catch fish

Love the little johns, well worth the money. Catch a ton of fish on them all year long, but I especially like throwing them on chunk rock in prespawn. Early in the year (like most people) when water temps are still low I do well with any of the spring craw, fire craw, blood craw colors. Later on I really like chart/blue, chart/black, and rootbeer if the water has some color. Cell mate, nasty shad, and spooky nasty for clear water. I throw both the shallow and md regularly but I'd like to pick up a few deep divers to try this summer.

Thanks for the imput guys will be getting some soon.

They're awesome cranks.  I have a lot of luck on cell mate cranking rip rap when the water is cold.  The Gamakatsu hooks they come with will stick anything that grabs them.
