Neither. I would us it for jigs/plastics.

I'd use it for the same as Dwight Stated.  I have 7'2" version and it rocks for Jigs and Worms.  However, I think it might work fine with jerkbaits.  Only way to see is test it!

I'd use it for plastics. Although I've heard many guys prefer an XF for jerkbaits. Experiment and see what you like it best for.

Definitely best answer.

I had the 6'8" and the 7'2". It if a good rod for spinner/chatter baits light frogging or whatever. It's a do it all rod for the most part.

Definitely jigs/plastics. I used to use mine for frogs too.

I have that exact rod, it even says "Worm & Jig"!

Don't forget the picture of a jig on the bottom of the handle.

Again jigs and soft plastic.  Senko style baits are awesome with this rod.  For jerkbaits you want a MH fast with a slightly softer tip.  For topwater I like a MH or H Fast rod that is at least 7'.

Lol.. I know it says Worm n Jig, I also have the 72mhxf (Got them for clearance price) I'm using for jigs. I perfer a longer rod for jigs and t rigged worms. That being said I think I'm going to use the 6'8 for jerkbaits.

When it comes to pitching I perfer a longer rod for leverage.

I think it should be fine like stated in my previous post.  I think the action (Shimano Rods) you're looking for is close enough to try jerkbaits.

Lol I wish I could go out and test it for jerkbaits. But I haven't found an ice breaking jerkbait lol.
