Slow Going But Still Possible

Instead of coming up with an outlandish question to ask during these hard times, I went out and caught this little one to bug you guys with. Hit a 1/4oz redeye shad. Guides were iced up BAD...I'm fed up with winter and there's still quite a bit of it left!

Nice! I just told my buddy today I'm going to go nuts if I can't get out there and make a cast soon! I don't think I can get my gear any more organized.

Not anybody can go catch a fish in the middle of winter. Good job .

Ice Fishing just doesn't do it. I already have all my rods (somewhere around 16) relined and ready to go. All my tackle organized with the exception of my cranks, next I am inspecting hooks/sharpening/replacing. I have never been so ready to go.

Nice job! Unfortunately my nearby lake has ice and a foot of snow on top...

Sounds like it's enough to stand on! Go get 'um.

Good job!

Our lakes thawed out for about 3 or 4 days but are going to quickly be frozen back over and getting our first measurable snowfall of 2015 it sounds like :(

Boy wish I only had a foot of snow on the ice.  It's more like 5 feet now after that last blizzard.

Congrats man on the catch!  Lucky that you can go out and throw a line.

About 6 weeks according to the prognosticating rodent.

And, according to the oversized rat, SOMETHING is going to be biting.

You beat the winter...and didn't let the winter beat you...good show!

there have honestly been times i've been a lot prouder of ANY fish under bad conditions than a nice one under ideal conditions.  way to go out there and smoke one when you got a chance.
