Shakey Head

Featured Replies

If I'm looking to get a lot of bites but not necessarily big fish, would a shakey head be a good choice? I am planning on putting the Z Man TRD on them. Any Advice would be appreciated.

Shakey head, drop shot or a senko will probably give you the most bites.

Actually, If you want a lot of bites go with live Nightcrawlers.

Shaky head head will get you a lot of bites, if fished in the right area. Don't let people fool you though... It doesn't just catch small fish.

I get more bites on a shakey head than a senko rigged any of the numerous ways.

Drop Shot, hands down.

The TRD is tiny to rig on a shakyhead. I like the shakyhead for lots of bites, but I'd just go with a regular finesse worm or trick worm.

Or a R.I. smallie beaver. :)

There are a lot of good worms to use on a shaky head, a TRD needs to be put on a small jig head with an exposed hook, it is a super finesse presentation.

My go to trailer has been the GYCB 6.5" Kut Tail, but last year I

discovered the MegaStrike MegaTube Craw which was KILLER!

What will get he most bites depends on conditions, therefore changes daily. A shakey head works well on a clean hard bottom when the fish are bottom oriented. Not that you can't get reaction bites on the fall but a lot of baits can do that.
