Hello From Upstate Ny

Featured Replies

My name is Justin, I live about 10 minutes east of Albany and I'm just starting to get into fishing. I just picked up a Shakespeare Tiger Reel and Rod combo (cheap 7 foot, medium action rod) to get me started and honestly I'm a bit clueless when it comes to fishing. I'll be out at a few lakes in Averill Park, NY and out on the Hudson River. Definitely looking for tips and advice from anyone who could point me in the right direction when it comes to freshwater fishing.

Thanks guys!

Welcome to the forum. Fishing in upstate is great. I spend spring thru fall up there just east of Syracuse. You will learn a lot on this forum.

Welcome!

PM me ... I am minutes from you.  Definitely can show you around!  A lot of good fishing in this area!

Welcome to BR.  Enjoy the forums.  Lots of great folks here.

Welcome and gotta love NYS fishing.

I am smack between Binghamton and Syracuse NY.

Best fishing anywhere ;)

I was up state near your area a few days ago and the small ponds are still frozen. I can't wait until the water temps goes up so you can get some good fishing in. Good luck this season and I hope you can learn some good tricks from BR so you can get the big ones. Keep the lines in the water!!!
