In male bass vs female bass?

whichever ones fat is female. (P.S. I know this isn't a good method but it's all I could think of)

Makes tend to have larger mouth-to-body ratios compared to females. Females have much smaller mouths.

Except during the spawn when the females are full of eggs and the males are are squirting sperm, there is no way, short of cutting the fish open, to tell for sure. Even during the spawn, not all females have eggs so even then, sometimes it's just a guess.

Males rarely grow bigger than 5lbs so just about all bass over five are females.

There is no 100% effective way without killing the fish and cutting it open.

I've seen it on large female (I'm assuming because they look full of eggs) as well.

When you catch the fish, lay it on the floor of the boat (or on the shore) & set a TV remote control next to it.  If the fish grabs the remote and starts pressing the CH+ button, it is a male.  If the fish asks you to change the channel because it would like to watch "Dancing with the Stars", it is a female.
