I have a fishing trip planned for tomorrow morning with a buddy. I have my trusty spook tied up ready to go, but kinda wanna give em a buzzbait too in case they want that.

There's not a whole lot of wind gonna be present when we get to the water. If the water is pretty calm, would the buzzbait do more harm than good as far as spooking the bass goes? Not used to tossing buzzbaits in the am.

BUzzbaits work in calm water , especially early and late. 

Do it whatever the conditions. I think it's gonna rain so the buzzbaits could do very well.

If it's a really small place, maybe a small buzzbait like a Pond Magic. Bigger place can take more noise. If I start in the dark, I like a black/blue one. The Torpedo can be a quieter version of a buzzbait. And if you twitch it, it'll stay in the strike zone longer.

Yea, it seems like they change the rain percentage every hour lol. I'm goin regardless. If it rains, I wont think twice about throwing it. I'll probably end up throwing it anyway.

Its a moderately large body of water. You guys have more or less convinced me to just go for it!

imo there is no better/fun bait to aggravate the bleep out of fish into biting

You can also use a wake bait , not as loud but can have explosive reaction bites .

I dis buzz baits during the times when they aren't "supposed" to work and constantly catch fish on them. Just remember to have a follow up rod for missed fish and throw it before even reeling in the buzz bait all the way in.

I had my first buzzbait strikes of the year yesterday in water so shallow that the bass would practically jump out of the air in an attempt to get it. Pretty darn awesome! Didn't try it today with the "cold front" we've been having but yeah, go for it!

Flat calm to a slight chop seems to be the best wind for a buzzbait for me. 

Thanks everybody. The water yesterday morning had a slight chop to it, so I ended up tieing it up. Landed 9 with all but one coming from the buzzbait.

I went through a funk last year with buzzbaits. Not one fish ate it when I threw it. I came to the conclusion that I was throwing it on days where the water was glassy. Hence why I asked about wind and the water on my original post. I guess it was just one of those things...

Lower light conditions, even if very calm, are good for buzzbaits. Sometimes though a rage shad or ribbit frog type bait will get more strikes than a buzzbait in dead calm conditions.
