So guys I finally had my reel take a crap on me bc of the heavy crap I've been fishing in. I was looking a at a okuma Helios or a ardent f700. Any others I should look at and my budget is about right there no further. Thanks guys!!

Fast gear ratio and lots of drag is what I would be looking for.

I have a Super Duty and a Tourny Pro. Both do a great job.

I have a okuma Helios tcs, and I gotta tell ya that reel is amazing. Smooth awesome drag, easy to adjust the brakes. But like many others will tell you almost all reels in that price range will be great reels. I agree a high gear ratio is important for pitching.

Drag pressure is over rated, over hyped nonsense in 99% of most bass fishing applications, buy they reel you like/want, lock the drag down, and be done with worrying about it.

This is true, have done this for many years and it's always worked fine.  I still do it now with my old Shimano CA-200's.

The zillion original is a great choice.  Its what i use along with my steez.  I also like my daiwa advantage 153htsl.  Its a little tank and if your not a weight worrier, it will take great care of you.

The tat is about 100 bucks, inexpensive, has easy to adjust external brakes. Why not if the reel is to your liking.

Well after talking to a few people and the guys at TWS I'm going to give that 13 *** out but I'm also going to snag a lews super duty.
