so i used some KVD L&L on my 14 lb. Sunline Sniper and noticed my line getting a little chalky , the L&L has done nothing that i can see to improve the line , anyone have any issues like this ??

I throw sniper on a handful of reels. I also use l&l when I remember to apply it. I've never had any issues. It does seem to tame it down. I use 16 and 20. Never tried anything under those.

i'm wondering if i should just not use the L & L conditioner on it .

I use 16# Sniper and have used L&L on it since I put it on..

I also use it on ALL lines, including braid, and have never had a problem of any kind useing it.

Maybe you got a very old bottle and didn't shake it enough...I don't know, just a thought.

I use #16 on my main T rig rod and it's usually not with l&l. I think it handles fine.

here's a picture of the line on the reel , notice that it looks chakly , not clear like it should be  

l&l is a whiteish liquid. That's pretty normal from my experience. It'll even leave white spots on your reel if you go crazy with it.

I use a product called TangleFree works good and apply it as needed during the outing on all my reels.

KVD works by coating the line with a residue so the line will wet with water, FC doesn't wet so it needs a coating. TangleFree is a clear liquid coating that reduces line memory and wets the line, works differently than KVD.

Cabelas usually has it, my local tackle shop carries TangleFree in 2 oz size that I like to keep in my pocket.

How old is the line on that reel? My seagar red label will get like that every once in a while, but once I spray it with l&l it seems to clear up. I don't treat my lines every use, just like once a week and it seems to work pretty good for me. Just shake it up good and spray it on before you go to bed so that it has all night to "work its magic" 2-3 squirts is plenty

that line is about 2-3 weeks , I've fished it about 10 times . i put some L & L on it when i spooled it up and once or twice i sprayed the spool the night before i planned to go fish the next day .

That line looks like mine, but I don't think its a problem.  KVD is the best I've used and I've tried a few with all of them being oily as heck.  

I use Sniper in 12 and 14lb. in tandem with KVD L&L and I have never had any issues. Give it a good heavy spray the night before, and then hit it again in the morning before you leave. Works great for me. 

L&L is a polymer coating that doesn't degrade the line like Reel Magic / WD-40 etc. I'm sure it's fine. Not familiar with the Tangle Free brand.

I had a thread awhile back and experienced the same thing. Instead of spraying it night before every outing I'm only using it when needed. Milky color has since went away.
