Spinbait 90

Just got the twilight pattern duo spinbait 90 today and had a line size question.

I've used the 80 before on 8lb fc and felt like 10 wouldn't have been stretching it. With the 90, I've read 12lb but do you think I can get by with 15lb copoly (cx premium has smaller diameter than most copoly) or should I bring my 12lb fc reel with me on my kayak.

Man, i think it will work fine if you use a snap instead of a terminal knot. That way line diameter doesn't affect the shimmy of the bait.

I like to go as heavy as I can because I can't stand losing $14 baits. I'm giving 20# braid a shot next time with a spinbait 80.

use the lightest line you can get away with...12lb is about as high as i go with the 90s... you can use braid though as many guys have up on lake St clair...

The Spinbait 90 weighs 1/2 oz and is a slow sinking lure, I would think any FC that doesn't exceed the lure mfr recommendation should be OK, if it's .011D or less.

Thanks, I haven't seen that.

I hadn't come across it either. Been doing really well with the Spinbait 80 on 6 lb. FC.
