New Guy In Norfolk Va.

Featured Replies

My name is Matt. Lifetime bass fisher but new to here. Currently in the Navy and stationed in Norfolk, VA. Grew up learning how to bass fish on the California Delta but didn't really learn to love it until the family moved to Arkansas and my dad and I started fishing team tournaments on Beaver Lake and Table Rock Lake in Northwest AR.

For now just kickin around trying to find decent fishing in some of the ponds around the Hampton Roads area. Really miss being out on the boat flipping a jig all day but can't complain about getting any chance to get out and do some fishing.

Welcome aboard, Matt!

Some great fisheries in our area. I don't fish

the South side, but you've got Lake Prince,

and a number of others that are good bass

fisheries.

On the Peninsula, there's Bethel Reservoir,

Lake Maury, Harwood's Mill, Lee Hall.

Here's the VGDIF listing for the Tidewater

area:

Hey Matt, welcome to the Forum and Virginia.

Lots of places to fish and many bass clubs sprinkled around the commonwealth.

"Woody" can give you some tips about fishing the Tidewater area.

I will send him an email for him to contact you.

Good luck with your fishing and enjoy the Tidewater traffic!!!

Hey Matt,

Welcome to the Forums, well Darren pretty well summed up my answer.  Also Lake Cahoon, and Western Branch in Suffolk might be good for you to try and  the Finger lakes as well.  Not the size of bass you are probably used to catching here in VA, but you can still do well.  If you have any questions, let me know.  Again welcome to Bass Resource, and VA.

Take care,

Wdy
