Want to know if anyone has used yellow braid before. I am thinking about using 10# test on my spinning reel with 7# test leader. I am wanting to use yellow because It is hard fo me to see flurocarbon, eyes not good as they use to be. I will probably go with Power Pro or Sunline. I have also heard that yellow braid fades., does it fade bad where you can't see it. Anyone have any experiences with it ?

It fades to white.  I've heard no negitive reviews of yellow.  I've thought about trying it myself but since most of my braid I flip and pitch with is almost white now instead of green, well no need.  I could always just color it yellow with a sharpie next year when I want to try it out.

I've never used yellow but I have used bright green, pink, and white. I used all of them on spinning gear with a leader for visibility reasons as well and they all worked. White was probably the easiest to see and stayed that way out of all of them. 

I use green and bright... Bubblegum colored line. If I don't care about seeing my line I'll use a dark green if I want to see my line, bubblegum it is!

PowerPro SuperSlick on all my reels

and add a leader of varying pound

my old eyes, is perfect for line watching.

 

None of my spools have faded to white

yet. If I feel they get too "old", I walk off

the spool down to the backing, and tie

it on "backwards" so the newer line is

on top.

I've been using yellow pp braid for years, I don't use green at all.

I use 40 lb on bc gear for frogs/pitching to heavier cover(jigs, t/rig plastics). I just color the first 8 to 10 feet with a dark green or black sharpie, works great.

And 15 and 20 lb pp on spinning setup. With leaders on both if need be.

No need to worry about any fading issues. If it does fade slightly its still easy to see.

So much easier on the eyes, great for line watchers. Highly recommend.

Yellow is what I have on about 2/3 of my reels. Like was mentioned it helps with like watching a lot with small line.

I've always used yellow pp braid. Straight with no leader.

The bright green super slick holds its color fairly well. Definitely helps detect bites and you can always tie on a leader or intermittently color it to camouflage it. If you can't see your line, you'll miss those slack line strikes.

x2 long island basser. i switched to yellow years ago b/c i'm colorblind.  one of the top ten best angler decisions i've made.  i initially tried white but it collects algae/green colors which hurt the cause. however if ur not colorblind this would not be an issue.

 

yes it fades a lighter yellow but faded yellow is much easier for my eye's to see than greenish white

What is the difference between the regular Power Pro braid and the SuperSlick, which do you like the best. Great idea about reversing it.

Regular PP is a 4-strand weave, while SS is 8 strands.

 

Both are same in diameter equivalent. I just started using

the SS this year, and so far I really like it. Very smooth,

casts better (further, IMO), and is much quieter coming

thru the guides. The noise doesn't bother me, though.

 

So I'm still feeling out the SS, but am quite pleased 

with it, no negatives at all. I bought a big roll this past

summer, so should last me a long time.

I use it on a few spinning reels.  I like it.  It's easy to see, especially if you line watch.  I don't think that it fades worse that other colors.  The fish don't seem to mind.

I used yellow PP prior to trying white Fins Windtamer.

yellow sufix on all of my rods, I use leaders if necessary.

 

The yellow fades slightly but never completely. Best thing ever for a line watcher! Might give the white a shot too.
