Hey guys, I need to pick up some new lures and stuff for the new year coming up and wanted to know, when does bps have their biggest sale. what about Cabela's. Thanks!

Usually the Spring Fishing Classic late Feb/early March.

Good deals, rod and reel trade-ins, etc.

That's for Bass Pro, not sure Cabela's.

Lol, BPS never has a good fishing sale

Cabelas have random sales on different brands throughout the year, you'll have to check in store don't forget to hit up the bargain cave, most items aren't that great but sometimes you come across sweet deals

During their classic the pro qualifier is usually marked down to 69.99 which is a great deal

Laying here right now watching Shaw Grigsby and commercial came on for after christmas clearance some stuff 50-75% off.. uh oh I'm in trouble lol

Hehe...In my opinion, this is pretty close to the best answer :)

The Spring Classic is probably "the best", but even then the sales seem very narrow in scope.  If you like BPS house brand baits, Zoom, Strike King (and perhaps a few others), then there are likely some deals to be found.

But when you consider how many things are not on sale, and add to that BPS's higher prices to start with, the value of the sale diminishes pretty quickly.

If you're comfortable shopping online, there are better options to save $$$.

my mistake that was Cabelas

I primarily fish BPS brand and Strike King.  So for me, the Classic is the best time of year for me to buy lures on sale

The Spring Classic is the best time to buy at Bass Pro. But check out Tackle Warehouse. They have better prices all year around with a much wider selection. Hope this helps!

TW all the way.

the rod and reel trade-ins are great if you have old cheap stuff you want to get rid of.  stack that with the deep discounts on the BPS rods and reels and it's hard to beat.

The closest thing that resembles a good sale is the Spring Classic.

Go with Tackle Warehouse, your money will go farther there even with no sales.

X2

The only thing you'll ever really find on sale at BPS are their in-house branded items.

no it was mainly their store brand rods the new blanks are a different colour so they are selling them cheap like the graphite series were 25 instead of 50 when i went

The rod and reel trade in offer isn't bad. Wondering if they'll have name brand exclusions this year to drive buyers to their house brands?  Otherwise their sale prices are usually above TWs everyday prices. And most of their lure sales items are their house brands.

I noticed that BPS doesn't really have sales as well. Only their branded products go on sale as mentioned above. I'm in the market for a new rod to go with my new Lews BB1 pro. I have about $150 in gift cards burning a hole in my pocket. So I'am heading to the Atlantic City location this Sunday. How is the carbonlite rod series? They are on sale for $99.99 this week. Its either those or St Croix Mojo Bass for $120. Do they even compare?

How about their lures? In my experience, cheap lures don't catch fish.

some of their soft baits aren't bad it's pretty hard to mess up a senko, i use the flippin craws as jig trailers and they work pretty well.  haven't really tried anything else though

i would say get a mojo bass instead you know st.croix is going to last for an extra $20

Yeah, my mind is made up on the Mojo. I was going to try to sneak in a drop shot rod with my gift cards but I'm going to let that wait for now.

Never, my $50 BPS gift card didn't go to far lol

The KC BPS had Daiwa Tatula Rods for $99 and $109 last time I was in there.  A VERY good deal on a nice rod.  Check the clearance rack for those.

If you can get to the stores you stand to find deals.  Got a 7' St. Croix Mojo for $70 at the Springfield MO BPS this past weekend.  It's the previous model year, not the current with the new blanks.  Seems like a pretty strong deal to me?

Keep and eye on BPS.  I often end up with $25 or $50 in gift cards and wait until their store brand rods/reels go on sale.  Feel like I pick up some pretty solid buys.
