So I'm looking for ideas here.  As I am going through my arsenal, I don't have designated rods for frogs, punching, or c-rigs.  Because those aren't techniques I use that often and have had limited boat space, I have always just used a 7 MH or H rod that I usually use for jigs for those applications.  But since I'm getting a new boat and will have all the space I need, I think I'm going to get a rod to use for those applications.  So what do you think?  A 7'6 H that would be ideal for punching and would work for frogs?  Maybe just stick to a lighter action rod for C-rigs.    Any rods you'd recommend?  I am not going to go very high end so nothing more than $150.  I've been changing from Loomis to Dobyns over the last year so I think I'll start there.  Thanks for any suggestions.

If you can find a used Champion 735 you will be set. I personally use a 736 for punching and frogging. But I fish in thick vegetation. 

I bought a Cabela's Tournament XZ Frog model, Hvy, Fast today for this purpose. It'll be my frog rod when that's happening and jig the rest of the time. I'll review it when I've used it a couple times.

I use an original lamiglas 735 excel.  I want to give a mb perfect pitch a run at these applications.

Punchin and Froggin require a much different rod than C-rigs....

Approx 7'6" Heavy - Flippin, Hvy Pitchin, Froggin, Punchin

Approx 7' MedHvy - C-rigs, pitchin,  bigger jigs

Lamiglas Pro-X 735 is the most versatile rod I've ever owned. It would do what you need really well. 

for the applications you listed , a H/F rod would work great for frogs & carolina rigs ,

for punching ,you would want a bit of a moderate action rod . punching is a short line technique that by using a moderate action rod you will absorb the shock of the hookset . jigs , frogs , and carolina rigs you will have line out and you don't need the shock absorbancy of the moderate rod but would benifit from the stiffer backbone of a fast action rod for hook sets , especially with a carolina rig .

Thanks for the info gents.  I'll have to take a look at these rods.  Since it was -2 this morning on the drive in, I won't be froggin' or punchin' any time soon.
