Copolymer lines

Featured Replies

i've been trying to find one that is the least visible so i dont have to use fluoro at all ( except for dropshot maybe) i just put some p-line fluoroclear on for this reason - 10 # on a spinning reel with a 1/4 - 3/8 jig....so far so good - any feedback on visibility amongst copolymers ?

I've tried Yo-Zuri Hybrid, P-line CXX, and P-Line Fluoroclear.  Liked Yo-Zuri the best and the CXX the least.

I feel the exact same

Im sold on the Gamma copoly line it's been excellent on most of my reels 12lbs & 8lbs over the past 5 years. i also used the YZH brid over the years but lean more to the gamma line.

I'll probably grab a copolymer line to try this year. What brand are you guys recommending? And for what fishing applications is best to use a copolymer? Thanks.

For finesse applications with spinning gear 18 -24 lb. Gliss mono with or without leader, cast great, sensitive & no memory

P-line CX premium and Fluoroclear are the only 2 lines I use. Both are great as far as castability and strength. That said, I use Fluoroclear for cranks.

This will be my 2nd year with Lake Forks Hybrid, I like it.

You can't do an apples-to-apples with CXX and other co-polys. One is meant for something completely different. 6lb CXX and 12lb anything else is fair, but 12lb to 12lb isn't.

Been hearing good things from the grand slam hi seas line, I saw one guy talk bout it, anyone else have had good or bad from this line?

I did recently buy a couple of spools of the hi seas in a pinch and I've have good luck w the 6lb to this point as leader material for braid on a spinning setup.

I can't say it it's as tough as the other brand I normally use yet, but it also hasn't let me down yet either.

Grand slam select is also very good. It is a little thicker than PLines though

Yea I've seen that before...

I decided to try a few different lines last year and the year before.  I have Yo-Zuri Hybrid spooled on a couple of reels, as well as at least two varieties of P-Line.  I later realized that testing lines to find your favorite is largely pointless if you neglect to label your reels with which line they are filled with.

When they were handing out heads, I thought they said "sheds," and I said I'd like a great big wooden one...

Tight lines,

Bob
