ok its my first year throwing big baits and i'm pretty nervous about losing my lures so i have spooled up with 65lb braid would this be ok or should i get some 25lb fluro and just get used to checking my line every cast. i will be throwing anything in these 2 boxes 

Those are some doozie sized baits!  Assuming you won't be using them in the Kawartha's...:)

I've never thrown baits that big but if I did I think I'd use braid with fluro leader so that you could give them as natural a presentation as possible.  I'd still also check my line for knicks along the way...

no it will be a little further north closer to bracebridge i have a select lake that i know only contains bass so it will mostly be there

Cool! Ya, given the rocks and clear water that are usually found in that region I'd go with braid to a fluro lead.

In my opinion braid doesn't do well with bigger baits(especially once you get into the the 5 plus oz baits).It tends to bunch up and dig into itself.For the baits shown here you should be fine with 25 lb flouro maybe even 20 lb depending on where and how your're fishing them.

If you're going to have one swimbait rig and don't want to worry about it snapping on a cast run the middle ground and throw 25lb CXX. 

With baits that size you don't have to worry about the fish seeing your line. The way Butch and all of us out here rig our soft ones they look like they have antlers and they almost always head shot it, so line is meaningless. 

If you want to have far better hookups with those top hook ones and get to use all three of the hooks on a treble up on top of the bait PM me and I'll show you an easy thing I came up with that works. 

LOL omg it's hilarious because your tacklebox looks nearly identical to mine. What the heck? Those are the only swimbaits I use. Gantarels, Line-Thrus, and 3d real trouts! 

Well ya learn something new every day here!    It never even crossed my mind that braid would dig into itself based on the weight of the lures.

Don't use braid not enough stretch if the spool suddenly stops.  I throw a bull shad and similar baits on 17 or 20 C21.

25lb. Trilene Big Game will do you fine....

I use 20lb C21 or Big Game for my big baits so you'll be fine. 

I use 15 lb big game for all of my lures under 3 ozs, and 20lb  Seaguar Abrazx for lures up to 6.5 ozs. Don't judge line by the poundage label, because it is pretty meaningless, go by the diameter instead.

 

What rod-reel combo are you using?

I have learned to live maxima ultragreen20# for my smaller swimbaits which are pretty similar to all you have. Braid will break your heart sooner or later, when you chunk a bomb And here your line pop then watch your bait fly off into the sunset
