Jig Tying

Featured Replies

Getting ready to start tying some jigs and planning on using wire but I wasn't sure what gauge, coated or noncoated, copper, stainless and is there any advantage of thread over wire.  Any help would be great.

Most of that is personal preference.  I use 22 ga copper that I strip.

Thread is way more time consuming than wire.  I use the windings out of an old table saw motor.

I don't believe one is bettr than the other. It's a matter of personal preferance and what you're used to. I personally like to tie with thread. To each his own.
