I am in MO. so I like to start night fishing post spawn to late fall. I like warm nights,I am a baby when it comes to cold nights!:dogdog:

Dont forget to take a few night trips around the full moon phase. Regardless of water temps, or time of year, the moon can still have a large effect on the feeding habits of fish.

Summer!

I have found that the New Moon and the Crescent moon are pretty good also!

I'm 45 and I haven't started night bass fishing yet. But I keep saying I will soon.

In my opinion, on the lake that I fish mostly, night fishing for bass doesn't get good till the water temps during the day get too warm for bass to actively feed during the day. When you are mostly catching bass under heavy cover (large expanses of lily pads or heavily scummed up areas) and those bass are few and far between then its time to night fish or at the least only fish around sun up or sun down.

You definitely need to give it a shot some time.  Out of around 50 day trips last year, my average best 5 would of been around 12 pounds.  On 15 night trips my average best 5 would of been around 18 pounds.  Those 15 trips also accounted for 2 of my 3 bass over 8 pounds last year.

Geez, I don´t know ....... as soon as the sun sets ? well, technically that´s when the night begins.

Tried bass fishing at night once or twice. Didn't even get a bite. He bite actually starts to turn off for me 30 minutes before dark, much better as the sun is setting.

Ive heard certain areas bass will hit at night and certain areas they just won't. Maybe I'm in an area where they don't.

i definitely have to give it a better go.. but i hear no action at night, dead silence, no misses, nothing. Seems like they turn off completely. All itll take is one, and then ill be hooked on the night bite for sure

Just like fishing in the light you will have productive & non-productive periods.

Fish the same areas with the same baits as you would during daylight.

A black jitterbug is a must for night fishing. Just cast it out and give it a steady retrieve back. Big bass love it.

I start night fishing when the bass stop biting during the day.  Summertime, no clouds, hot, still, and you don't see, or hear, any other animals moving around.

When it gets warmer out...Nothing like freezing your butt off in the dark.

A Thermacell works wonders at night. I would not go night fishing without one. No messing with bug spray for me.

Yup right now. I caught the bass in my avi night fishing last week

Never? I've fished a few night tournaments and just don't care for it. Caught a bunch of fish at night but unless someone's partner backs out at the last minute I don't see myself fishing at night anymore

Up in Northern Wisconsin and the UP of Michigan, where I fish in the summertime, it's only dark for about 6 hours a day. The daytimes temps are seldom reach 85, the bass bite all day. You have to sleep sometime. Why would I fish at night?
